Greensburg, PA:  The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference announced that Pitt-Greensburg senior, Maria Iovino (Irwin, PA, Penn-Trafford), has been named the 2012 AMCC Women’s Tennis Player of the Year.

Maria finished the season undefeated in conference play at #1 singles.  Iovino compiled an 8-0 record in singles and 6-2 in #1 doubles (with partner Cayla Ray) that helped propel the Bobcats into the conference tournament for the second time in the history of the young program.

Iovino leaves Pitt-Greensburg as the career wins leader in both singles and doubles.  2012 marked only the third season for the Bobcat tennis program, and backed by the strong efforts of Iovino, the Lady Bobcats finished the regular season as the #5 seed posting a 4-4 AMCC record.
