Pitt-Greensburg Stung by Yellowjackets in 7-2 Loss

Box Score Greensburg, PA:  The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg men's tennis team opened the 2013 season by dropping a 7-2 decision to visiting Waynesburg University.

The loss drops the Bobcats to 0-1 on the season as Waynesburg improves their record to 3-0.

Pitt-Greensburg got off to a slow start, going 0-3 in the doubles portion of the contest.  But, picked up their first two wins in the singles 3 and 4 matchups, when Jeremy Niemiec (Scottdale, PA, Southmoreland) won in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 and Doug Smeltzer finished with a 6-1, 6-3, 10-8 victory.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Saturday, February 23rd against Washington and Jefferson College at the Greensburg Racquet Club starting at 5:00pm
