Washington & Jefferson Serve Bobcats 6-3 Defeat

Box Score Greensburg, PA:  The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg men's tennis team fell in defeat 6-3 to visiting Washington & Jefferson College on Saturday evening.

Pitt-Greensburg is still in search of their first win as they fall to 0-2 while W&J improves to 1-1 on the season.

The Bobcats picked up the first doubles victory this season when Jeremy Niemiec (Scottdale, PA, Southmoreland) and Anthony Backowski (Harrison City, PA, Penn Trafford) dispatched of their opposition 8-1.  Singles' victories came from Zachary Pivirotto (Export, PA, Franklin Regional)  due to retirement and Doug Smeltzer. (Latrobe, PA, Greater Latrobe)  Smeltzer remains undefeated in singles play after recording the 6-3, 6-1 victory.

Pitt-Greensburg faces off against route 30 rival, St. Vincent College on Tuesday, February 26th at 9:30pm at the Greensburg Racquet Club.
