Cross Country takes 1st at Westmoreland Invite

YOUNGWOOD, Pa:  The Pitt-Greensburg men's and women's cross country teams got the 2015 season started in impressive fashion, with each taking home 1st place team awards at the Westmoreland County Community College invite on Saturday.
 
The meet kicked off the Dee Waters era for Pitt-Greensburg, who is in her first season as Head Coach.
 
On the women's side, sophomore Kelsey Oddis led the Bobcats finishing 2nd overall with a time of 22:05, while Marie Miller was close behind finishing 4th at 23:14.  Two other UPG runners finished in the top ten with Kaitlyn Armstrong as the 7th overall runner to cross the finish line along with senior Emily Nelson who finished 10th.
 
For the men, the Bobcats were paced by Garrett Urban who finished in 5th place overall with a time of 16:36. UPG had two other top ten finishes on the men's side with newcomer Daniel Spanner taking 7th overall at 17:25 and sophomore Tyler Lookabaugh finishing 9th with a time of 18:19.
 
Pitt-Greensburg will be back on the trail this Saturday September 12th when they travel to Bethany College.
