Men’s Soccer Falls to Alfred State in Physical Conference Battle

Pitt-Greensburg men's soccer dropped a hard-fought 2-0 decision to Alfred State on Saturday afternoon at Ridilla Field in a contest marked by physical play and second-half scoring.

After a scoreless first half, Alfred State broke through in the 54th minute when Colin Martin found the back of the net. Just three minutes later, Jack Farner doubled the visitors' lead, capitalizing on a quick transition to make it 2-0.

Despite the final scoreline, Pitt-Greensburg (7-6-4, 4-2-1 AMCC) created several chances in the second half, outshooting their first-half total with four attempts after the break. Ivan Remaley led the Bobcats with two shots on goal, while Cam Loveland added another quality effort that was turned away by Alfred goalkeeper Alexander Preston.

Nick Braun stood tall in net for Pitt-Greensburg, recording six saves to keep the Bobcats within striking distance throughout the match.

Alfred State held a 13-5 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. The Bobcats were whistled for seven fouls compared to just two by the Pioneers.

Pitt-Greensburg will look to bounce back in its next AMCC matchup, the final of the regualr season, as they travel to Mount Aloysius for a 7PM kickoff.
