GREENSBURG, Pa:  With 2015 coming to a close, here is a look back at 10 great moments in Pitt-Greensburg athletics over the past year: 

10.  Men's Tennis Senior day shutout of Mount Aloysius clinches #4 seed in AMCC Playoffs

For the third consecutive season under Coach Maria Iovino, the men's tennis team was headed back to the AMCC playoffs after a 9-0 shutout over Mt. Aloysius. UPG would fall in the first round of the AMCC playoffs to eventual champion Franciscan University.  Earning All-AMCC honors in 2015 were Izaak Fulmer-Moffat, Luke Zeleznik, and Jakob Schafer.

9.  Lauderbaugh's hat trick helps men's soccer bury Bradford 6-1 on Senior day

Junior Jake Lauderbaugh's three goals, combined with Sean Baxendell's school record four-assist performance kept the Bobcats' playoffs hopes alive as they cruised past Pitt-Bradford 6-1 on senior day. Though the Bobcats would narrowly miss out on the AMCC playoffs, Lauderbaugh and Brian Koerber would named to AMCC All-Conference teams.  Also in 2015, Head Coach Dan Keefe recorded his first collegeiate win as a head soccer coach with a 2-1 victory over Thiel. 

8.  Softball sweeps Medaille on road to clinch final AMCC playoff spot

With their playoffs hopes on the line, the Pitt-Greensburg softball team earned a thrilling 12-11 victory in game two to complete a double header sweep at Medaille College, punching their ticket to the AMCC playoffs.  The Bobcats lost a pair of close games in the AMCC tournament, but earning All-AMCC honors in 2015 were Sarah Geibel, Kara Barclay, Morgan Russo, and Alyssa Panza.  Panza was also named AMCC Newcomer of the Year. 

7.  Urban and Oddis reach Pitt-Greensburg cross-country milestones

Senior Garrett Urban finished the AMCC Championships in 9th place overall, earning All-AMCC honors for the 4th consecutive season.  He becomes only the 2nd Pitt-Greensburg runner to earn that honor in all four seasons.  First-Year runner Kelsey Oddis finished in 10th place overall on the women's side, becoming only the 2nd female runner in Pitt-Greensburg history to earn All-Conference distinction.  Also pictured is Daniel Spanner who finished the race just behind Urban in 10th, becoming the 4th UPG male runner to earn All-AMCC in school history.

6.  Women's soccer posts back-to-back shutouts of Behrend and Bradford; earn #3 seed in AMCC Playoffs

After posting back to back 1-0 victories over the AMCC's top two teams in Pitt-Bradford and Penn State Behrend, the Bobcats locked up the #3 seed in the AMCC playoffs after finishing 6-1-2 in the regular season. Six Bobcats earned All-AMCC including Kayleen Schwegler, Courtney Carroll, Shannon Edwards, Caitlin Welsh, Camille Hickman and Brianna Burgunder.  Schwegler was named newcomer of the year and Head Coach Chuck Wigle was named AMCC Co-Coach of the Year.

5.  Men's basketball knocks out D'Youville in first round of AMCC Playoffs

Playing in their first home playoff game in ten years, the Bobcats made it count as they advanced to the AMCC semi-finals with a 88-72 victory over D'Youville College. Jerell Figueroa posted a career-high 35 points in front of a rowdy home crowd. In 2015, the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team saw three players record their 1,000th point.  At the end of last season, Brian Heinle became the first of three Bobcats to achieve the feat, while teammate Rocco Contristano got his 1,000th in the AMCC semi-final loss to Medaille.  Fast foward to this season and senior Jerell Figueroa became the third Bobcat of 2015 to earn his 1,000th point, doing so in front of his family and friends in a victory over Wilson College at the York Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament.

4.  Trout earns individual golf title, Bobcats earn 3rd place team finish

In an impressive freshman campaign, first-year Bobcat Javon Trout claimed the overall individual title at the AMCC Championships, shooting a 151 over the two days to earn a two stroke victory.  Behind Trout's stellar performance, the Bobcats claimed a third place team finish.  Trout was named AMCC Player and Newcomer of the Year in 2015 while teammate Marty Sholtis earned 3rd team All-AMCC and Tony Berich was named AMCC Coach of the Year.


3.  Baseball eliminates Bradford, Mount Aloysius in AMCC playoffs en route to school record 24 victories

The Pitt-Greensburg baseball team swept Pitt-Bradford in the opening round of the AMCC playoffs while also eliminating Mount Aloysius, finishing 2015 in 3rd place. The 24 victories in 2015 were a new school record, eclipsing the 22 win mark set in 2014. Six Bobcats were named All-AMCC including Matt Moyer, Anthony Bozzuto, Chad Jacob, Matt Germanoski, and Greg Lynn. 

2.  Biddle's 1,000th point helps defeat Bradford, propels women's basketball to AMCC Championship Game

With just one second remaining and the Bobcats trailing Pitt-Bradford 49-48 in the AMCC semi-final game, senior Morgan Biddle knocked down two insanely clutch free throws to win the game 50-49 and send the Bobcats to the AMCC Championship. Biddle recorded her 1,000th point in the victory, becoming only the 10th player to do so in UPG women's basketball history.  Teammate Kayla Dames had earlier become the 9th player to record 1,000 points, doing so in the 70-59 victory over Franciscan in the AMCC playoffs first round. Biddle and Dames earned All-AMCC honors while Biddle was also named UPG Female Athlete of the Year and Head Coach Erin Eaton was named UPG Coach of the Year.

1.  Women's Tennis goes undefeated in AMCC, claims first ever Regular Season Championship

The Pitt-Greensburg women's tennis team posted a banner year in 2015, the most successful one yet in the program's history. UPG would go undefeated in conference play, posting an 8-0 record and earning their first AMCC Regular Season Championship. After blanking Penn State Altoona 5-0 in the AMCC semi-finals, the Bobcats would fall 5-4 in dramatic fashion to Penn St. Behrend, just narrowly missing their first trip to the NCAA Tournament. Earning All-AMCC honors in 2015 were Shayla Landman, Sydney Geary, Alexandra Claherty and Amanda Jepsen. Landman was also named AMCC Player of the Year for a 2nd consecutive season while Head Coach Maria Iovino was named AMCC Coach of the Year.
