Carroll's first half goal lifts Pitt-Greensburg over D'Youville 1-0
Box Score Buffalo, NY- Courtney Carroll scored the game’s only goal in the 30
th minute and Toni Gockley made seven saves as Pitt-Greensburg knocked off D’Youville College 1-0 Saturday afternoon to open their 2012 AMCC schedule.
Despite being outshot 17-5 on the evening Pitt-Greensburg (3-3-2, 1-0) was able to hang on to the 1-0 victory. Toni Gockley made seven stops to record her second shutout of the season as she improved to 2-3-2 in goal on the season.
The Bobcats posted three shots on goal but got all the scoring they would need from Carroll who netted her sixth goal of the season in the 30
th minute. Tiffani Downey picked up the assists on the play, her third assist and ninth point of the campaign.
Pitt-Greensburg returns to action when they host AMCC foe Franciscan University on Tuesday, September 25
th at Ridilla Field. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
