Women's soccer falls in opener at Dickinson
Box Score CARLISLE, Pa: The 2014 women's soccer season got underway Friday evening, with Pitt-Greensburg dropping its first contest of the year on the road at Dickinson College by a score of 5-0.
It was a scoreless contest for the first 25 minutes until Dickinson's Allie Young got the Red Devils on the board with an unassisted goal. Dickinson would add two more tallies in the first half to hold a commanding 3-0, halftime lead.
The Lady Bobcats had a tough time finding any offense on Friday, as they were held to just 2 shots in the game. Dickinson would add a goal in the 60
th minute and then their final tally in the 82
nd minute to round out the scoring.
Freshman goalkeeper
Shannon Edwards (Fayetteville, PA, Chambersburg) made 26 saves in her Bobcat debut.
Pitt-Greensburg (0-1) will look to even its record on Wednesday evening (Sept 3
rd) as they travel to Geneva College for a 7pm contest.
