Lady Bobcats blanked by Westminster, 2-0
Box Score GREENSBURG, Pa: Battling a rash of injuries, the Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer dropped a home non-conference to Westminster College, 2-0 Thursday afternoon at Ridilla Field.
The Bobcats fall to 2-4 on the season while the Titans improve their mark to 7-2.
UPG was without their starting goalie
Shannon Edwards (Fayetteville, PA, Chambersburg) who was injured In the double overtime loss to W&J. The Bobcats were already missing backup goalie
Morgan Stetson (Erie, PA, Iroquois) who is out for the season, so the team turned to All-AMCC midfielder
Courtney Carroll (Irwin, PA, Hempfield) to step up in goal.
Carroll kept the Bobcats in the game, making 11 saves on the afternoon. WC's Rylie Shaw put a header In off a corner from teammate Meredith Mishler to give the Titans a 1-0 lead in the 27
th minute.
The Bobcats couldn't get much offense going on this day, especially with Carroll in net. WC's Krysten Opsatnik put a shot on goal that slipped past Carroll in the 63
rd minute to stretch the Titan lead to 2-0. That would wrap the scoring on this day, as the Titans left Greensburg with the shutout victory.
Pitt-Greensburg will look to get back in the win column this Saturday when they host SUNY-Canton at Ridilla Field at 12pm.
