Big first half propels Lady Bobcats over Thiel, 3-2
Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa: Three first half goals by led the Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team to a 3-2 road victory over Thiel College Thursday evening.
Pitt-Greensburg evens their record at 4-4 while the Tomcats drop to 2-8.
Abigail Pasierb got the Bobcats on the board in the 23
rd minute with a goal off a pass from
Alexandra Dimoff. Less than two minutes later, senior
Ashley Dickey tallied her first collegiate goal, making it 2-0 Bobcats at the midway point of the first half.
Courtney Carroll picked up the assist on Dickey's goal.
The Bobcats would stay aggressive, as junior
Stephanie Wehner netter her first goal of the season to put UPG up by a commanding 3-0 score.
Thiel would add a first half goal to close the gap to 3-1, followed by a goal just over a minute into the second half, trimming the Bobcat lead to 3-2.
UPG goalkeeper
Shannon Edwards made 4 of her 5 saves in the second half, preserving that one-goal lead and giving the Bobcats their fourth victory of the season.
Pitt-Greensburg has won 2 straight and will look to keep the momentum rolling this Saturday (Sept 27) when they open up AMCC play against Medaille College. Game time is set for 1pm at Ridilla Field.
