Lady Bobcats drop AMCC opener to Medaille, 1-0
Box Score GREENSBURG, Pa: The Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team opened up play in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference on Saturday, falling at home to Medaille College 1-0.
The Lady Bobcats drop to 4-5 overall and 0-1 in the AMCC while the Mavericks improve to 2-5 on the season and 1-0 in AMCC play.
The game's lone goal came in the 20
th minute when Medaille's Kayln Compeau broke loose from the defense and got around UPG keeper
Shannon Edwards, scoring into an empty net. The one goal lead would be all the Mavericks would need on this day, as keeper Morgan Howe was solid in net, make six saves in the shutout. Edwards made 4 saves in net for the Bobcats.
Pitt-Greensburg held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks and outshot Medaille 8-7 on the day but couldn't come up with any legitimate scoring opportunities on what was a defensive battle for both squads.
Up next for the Bobcats is a trip to Pittsburgh, Pa for an AMCC matchup with La Roche College. Match time is set for 2pm.
