Bobcats back to even after 8-1 win over Bethany

Box Score GREENSBURG, PA:  The Pitt-Greensburg men's tennis team evened their record at 3-3 after dispensing with the Bison of Bethany College 8-1 in a Sunday non-conference showdown.  The Bison now fall to 2-3 on the season.

The Bobcats got off to a great start, taking all three doubles matches to start the evening 3-0.  Jeremy Niemiec (Scottdale, PA, Southmoreland) and Anthony Backowski (Harrison City, PA, Penn Trafford) recorded an 8-3 win coupled with an 8-1 win by Tyler Fox (Mt. Pleasant, PA, Southmoreland) and Izaak Fulmer-Moffat (Derry, Pa, Derry)Jakob Schafer (New Kensington, PA, Valley) and Luke Zeleznik (Scottdale, PA, Southmoreland) rounded out the double sweep after battling to a 9-7 victory.

For the second day in a row, Pitt-Greensburg would take all but one of the singles matches.  Wins would come from #1 Niemiec:  6-1, 6-2, #2 A Backowski:  6-4, 6-3, #3 Fox:  7-6, 2-6 (10-6), #5 Fulmer-Moffat:  6-3, 6-3, and #6 Zeleznik:  6-2, 6-4.

Up next for men's tennis is a trip to Washington, PA on Thursday, April 2nd for a 3:30pm contest with the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson College.
