Westminster offense too much for Bobcats
Box Score NEW WILMINGTON, Pa: The Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team got off to a rough start Thursday evening and couldn't recover, falling on the road to Westminster College 8-1 in a non-conference contest.
The Bobcats fell behind early, giving up a goal in the 3
rd minute of the game. Three more first half tallies for the Titans gave them a commanding 4-0 lead.
UPG got a late first-half goal from Senior
Courtney Carroll (Irwin, PA, Hempfield) in the 45
th minute to cut the deficit to 4-1. Unfortunately the Titans answered right back just before the half with a goal of their own to take a 5-1 lead at the half.
Struggles for the Bobcat defense continued in the second half, allowing three 2
nd-half goals as Westminster cruised to the 8-1 final score.
Pitt-Greensburg (1-4) will look to bounce back on Saturday when they travel to Pittsburgh, PA for a non-conference tilt with Chatham University. Saturday's match is set for 2pm.
