Pitt-Greensburg opens AMCC play with loss to Penn State Behrend

GREENSBURG, Pa:  The Pitt-Greensburg men's tennis team opened their 2016 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play with an 8-1 defeat at the hands of Penn State Behrend.

The Friday loss starts the Bobcats to 0-1 in the AMCC and 3-2 on the season while the Lions improve to 4-1 in conference action and 9-7 overall.

Behrend jumped out to an early lead after the doubles segment, snatching narrow victories by 8-6 scores at the #1 & #2 spots and finishing with an 8-5 triumph at #3.

The Lions carried the momentum into the singles portion and secured victories in five of the six matches.  The lone Bobcat win went to Izaak Fulmer-Moffat (Derry, Pa, Derry) who scored identical 6-1, 6-1 triumphs at the #5 spot.

The Bobcats will look to rebound today with an 8:00 AMCC matchup with branch campus rival Pitt-Bradford.
