Bobcats bounce back with 9-0 rout of Pitt-Bradford
Box Score GREENSBURG, Pa: The Pitt-Greensburg men's tennis team evened their conference record at 1-1 on Saturday, bouncing back from a Friday loss to hand the Panthers of Pitt-Bradford a 9-0 defeat.
The Bobcats move to 4-2 overall and sit at 1-1 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, while Pitt-Bradford falls to 2-5 on the year and 2-3 in conference play.
Pitt-Greensburg wasted little time jumping out to a lead, securing victories in all three spots of doubles play. The pairing of Zachary Pivirotto (Export, PA, Franklin Regional) and Doug Smeltzer (Latrobe, PA, Greater Latrobe) collected a tight 8-7 (7-5) win in the top spot followed by triumphs of 8-2 by Tyler Fox (Mt. Pleasant, PA, Southmoreland) and Izaak Fulmer-Moffat (Derry, Pa, Derry) and 8-4 by Luke Zeleznik (Scottdale, PA, Southmoreland) and Michael Meyer (Pittsburgh, PA, Keystone Oaks).
They'd keep it rolling through singles play, with each Bobcat earning straight set victories en route to the dominating conference whitewash.
