Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

First Half Strike Lifts Juniata Past @UPGWomensSoccer

GREENSBURG- Aubrie Christensen's goal in the 13th minute lifted Juniata to a 1-0 victory over the Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team Tuesday afternoon at Ridilla Field.

Tuesday's match was the final non-conference contest for both teams.

Christensen's strike early in the first half proved to be the difference, as received a pass from Anna Kaufaman in the top left hand corner of the 18-yard box, and fired a curling shot into the upper right hand corner of the goal for the lone goal of the game.

Juniata outshot Pitt-Greensburg 16-2 on the afternoon, but Bobcat goalkeepers Kaitlyn Watson and Shannon Edwards each made great saves to keep the game close. Watson recorded two saves, while Edwards made three stops in the final 24:20 of regulation.

The Eagles came close to adding to their lead when Nicole Saulnier drilled a strike towards the Pitt-Greensburg goal, but Kelcey Hickman headed the ball off the end line to deny the scoring opportunity.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Saturday evening, when it travels to Buffalo, N.Y. to face Medaille. Saturday's kick-off is set for 8:30 pm.
