@UPG_WBB Drops Hard Fought Contest To Pitt-Bradford To Conclude 2017-18 Season

GREENSBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team dropped a 73-68 decision to Pitt-Bradford in the 2017-18 regular-season finale Saturday afternoon inside Chambers Hall.

Pitt-Greensburg concludes the season with a 7-18 overall record and a 7-11 mark in conference play, while Pitt-Bradford stands at 14-10 and 11-7 in the AMCC. The Bobcats ended the season playing their best basketball of the season and kept their playoff hopes alive winning four of their final six games.

Kelsey Oddis totaled 22 points and 17 rebounds in her final collegiate game and ends the season with 17 double-doubles. Oddis' concludes her Pitt-Greensburg career ranked seventh in school history with 1,203 points and her 19.4 points per game breaks the single-season school record for the highest scoring average.

Sabre Turner and Colleen Murphy were also in double-figures for the Bobcats with 13 and 12 points respectively, while Cat Gollihugh gave Pitt-Greensburg great production from the point guard spot in her second career start, dishing out seven assists and grabbing six rebounds, both of which are career-highs for the freshman.

Ali Rinfrette paced the Panthers with a game-high 28 points and five steals, while teammate Jennifer Isenberg added 23 points and 14 rebounds.

Pitt-Greensburg trailed by just eight at the halftime break after shooting just 26% over the first and second quarters, but were much more efficient in the second half, hitting 11-of-24 for 46% and a sparkling 13-of-14 from the free throw line. The Bobcats made the most of their attempts at the charity stripe hitting 21-of-22 for a remarkable 96%, including knocking down all eight attempts in the first half, while Pitt-Bradford struggled, making 13-of-23 on the afternoon and just 10-of-17 in the second half.

Just under halfway through the third quarter, the Bobcats trailed 46-40, but reeled off an 11-0 burst to take a 51-46 lead with 89 seconds left in the quarter, and the two sides would head into the final 10 minutes all tied at 52.

Sam Ballow opened the fourth quarter with four-straight points and Oddis hit two free throws as the Bobcats held a 58-54 lead with 5:41 left in the fourth.

The Panthers reeled off the next five points to retake a 59-58 advantage, but Oddis came right back and knocked down a jumper to put the Bobcats back in front, 60-59.

On the next possession, Rinfrette struck again, hitting a three-pointer to put Bradford back in front and Etreece Adams and Anna Colebert each hit shots, as Pitt-Bradford held a six-point advantage (66-60) with 3:21 remaining in the game.

Oddis ended the short run for the Panthers with a layup, but Shaelyn Snipes nailed a layup to keep the Panthers in front by six (68-62).

With under a minute left, Turner cut the deficit to four with 39 seconds left, but Rinfrette proved clutch down the stretch for Bradford, knocking down 5-of-6 from the line, as the Panthers would hold on for the 73-68 victory.
