Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lions Prove To Be Too Much for Bobcats

ERIE – The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team entered the regular season finale with hopes to gain momentum to go into the AMCC Tournament next week. The Bobcats already have its seeding and opponent set going into the game against Behrend. The Lions jumped out to an early lead and didn't look back as they defeated the Bobcats 81-49.

Senior Sidney McCully was the leading scorer for the Bobcats with 12 points. Once again, she did it all as she also recorded six rebounds, two blocks and two steals in the game. Freshmen Chloe Lukondi and Madison Scalese scored nine points each and secured six rebounds each.

Senior guard Lizzie Penrose continued to get in the mix of things, bringing down a team-high eight rebounds, half of them being offensive rebounds. The shooting woes continued for the Bobcats as they shot just 22 percent from the floor and 13 percent from behind the arc.

Behrend scored 25 points off of 22 Pitt-Greensburg turnovers and had 20 second-chance points. The Lions shot over 53 percent from behind the arc.

Pitt-Greensburg will look to turn the page and battle the Mounties of Mount Aloysius for a chance to take on Behrend in the semi finals of the AMCC Tournament next Friday. The Bobcats will host the Mounties on Tuesday at 8 PM.
