Cold Shooting Night Dooms Women's Basketball

PITTSBURGH – It was a rough shooting night for the Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team as they took on the Celtics of Carlow in an AMCC rematch. The Bobcats defeated the Celtics earlier in the season but shot just 27 percent from the floor and made 17 shot in a 79-56 loss.

The Bobcats made more free throws than they did anything else, shooting 20-of-28 from the line. Melina Maietta led the way with eight free throws and 20 points. Tiana Moracco and Sarah Penrod also scored in double-digits for the Bobcats with 11 and ten points respectively. Sophomore guard Anna Durbin came off the bench and provided seven points and four rebounds for Pitt-Greensburg. Malina Boord had the team-high in rebounds with nine.

Pitt-Greensburg will travel to New York this weekend in the program's first road game at new AMCC opponent in Wells. The teams will play in a men's and women's doubleheader with the women's game starting at 1:00 PM.
