Softball Swept by Mitchell and Loras

CLERMONT, Fla - It was a tale of two different games for the Pitt-Greensburg softball team as one saw a pitchers duel with just three runs total, and the other one saw nine runs scored. The Bobcats were swept today as they fell to Mictchell 2-1 and Loras 9-0.

Melanie Mienke, Autumn Powell, and Julia Jastrebski were the three pitcher on the day for the Bobcats. Mienkie pitched 6.2 innings in game one, giving up just one earned run over eight hits. Powell and Jastrebski pitched game two with Powell pitching thee innings and Jastrebski going the final two. Powell gave up just four earned runs, but the defense struggles as there were five more unearned runs.

The Bobcats were held to six hits on the day, five of them coming in game one. Freshamn Madison Gardner recorded the only hit for the Bobcats in game two.

Pitt-Greensburg will have an off day on Wednesday and be back on the diamond Thursday against Ripon and Southern Maine. The games will be at 11:30 AM and 1:45 PM
