Softball Splits Sunday Matchup With Kenyon

GREENSBURG – The Bobcat Softball team made the trip across town to play at Kenyon at Seton Hill University today. The Bobcats took game one on a walk off single in the eighth inning off the bat of junior Kylie Karns. Pitt-Greensburg had a 9-3 lead going into the fourth inning of game two, but the Owl came soaring back to score 13 unanswered runs to take game two.

Junior pitcher Melanie Mienke earned the win in game one, her third of the season. Mienke pitched eight innings, giving up just one earned run and struck out four batters. Senior third baseman Kacey Weller went 3-for-3 in game one, driving in three of the Bobcat five runs.

Game two saw the Bobcat defense get sloppy as the team made seven errors, making just seven of the 16 runs for the Owls earned.

The Bobcats move to 6-6 on the season and will play again this Thursday against Waynesburg. First pitch will be at 3:30 PM.
