Softball Swept by Geneva

BEAVER FALLS -  The Pitt-Greensburg softball team began its final week of the regular season with a non conference road match up with Geneva. The Bobcats dropped both games as the Tornadoes shut out Pitt-Greensburg 3-0 in game one and out lasted the Bobcats 6-4 in game two. 

Freshman Julia Jastzebski started game one and went six innings giving up three earned runs over ten hits and struck out three batters. The Bobcats were only able to manage three hits, with two of them coming from the lead off hitt in freshman Jadyn Davis.

Game two had the Bobcats holding a 3-2 lead going into the bottom of the fourth inning, but Geneva scored three runs in hte bottom of the inning and scored an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth.  Freshman Hunter Taylor had two doubles in the game and was on base in all four times at the plate, with three hits and a walk. Madison Stonbraker and Melanie Mienke also recorded a multi-hit game. 

Mienke suffered the loss in game two, giving up 12 hits over six innings striking out just one batter while giving up five earned runs.

The Bobcats will have their finall home AMCC double header on Wednesday as La Roche comes to Greensburg. First pitch of game one will be at 3 PM.
