Softball Finishes Regular Season; Swept by Hilbert

HAMBURG, NY - The Bobcats Softball Team traveled to New York to finish their AMCC regular season slate and eyeing as high as a three seed in the AMCC playoffs. That plan took a hit as the team was swept by Hilbert, being outscored 14-3 in the process. 

Game one was a pitcher's dual until the bottom of the sixth inning when Hilbert was able to get to Pitt-Greensburg ace Melanie Mienke for three runs. Three of the Hawks' eight hits in the game came in the sixth inning. Game two saw the hawks jump on the Bobcats early, scoring three runs in the first inning. The Bobcats came closed the gap, making the game 4-3 after the bottom of the fourth inning, but Hilbert scored seven runs in the final two innings to end the game early. 

The Hawks had 15 hits in game two, with 3 hits on the day. The Bobcats managed four hits in both games, eight total. Freshman Jessica Dunn had the team's lone extra base hit on the day. The Bobcats will now prepare for the AMCC Tournament that will be held in Erie on the campus of PS Behrend.
