The Pitt-Greensburg women's tennis team earned a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Mount Aloysius on Saturday afternoon, securing their second conference win of the season.
The Bobcats jumped out to an early lead by taking two of three doubles matches. The No. 1 pairing of Gabi Moder and Nancy Jiang set the tone with a 6-4 win, while Karen Rabe and Sophia Lapore dominated at No. 2 doubles, cruising to a 6-1 victory. Despite a setback at No. 3 doubles, Pitt-Greensburg carried a 2-1 advantage into singles play.
In singles action, the Bobcats continued their strong performance at the top of the lineup. Gabi Moder was flawless at No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Karen Rabe followed suit at No. 2 with a commanding 6-2, 6-0 win, and Nancy Jiang added another straight-set victory at No. 3, 6-1, 6-1.
Mount Aloysius battled back with wins at the No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles spots, including a tight three-set match at No. 4, but Pitt-Greensburg's early success proved decisive.
The Bobcats close out the regular season tomorrow as they host Clarion.
