Women's Tennis Falls to Penn State Altoona in Road Match

The Pitt-Greensburg women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought match on the road Sunday afternoon, falling 5-2 to Penn State Altoona at the Adler Tennis Courts.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed resilience and earned victories in both doubles and singles play.

In doubles action, the duo of Karen Rabe and Sophia Lapore delivered a dominant performance at the No. 2 spot, cruising to a 6-1 win. However, Altoona claimed victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to secure the early point.

Pitt-Greensburg responded in singles with a thrilling comeback win from Gabi Moder at No. 1 singles. After dropping the first set 5-7, Moder rallied to take the second set 6-1 and clinched the match with a 10-5 win in the third-set tiebreaker.

Karen Rabe continued her strong day with a straight-set victory at No. 2 singles, winning 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 to give the Bobcats their second point of the match.

The remaining singles matches were tightly contested, with Nancy Jiang and Sophia Lapore both pushing their opponents to three sets before falling in close third-set tiebreaks.

The Bobcats return to the courts on Saturday as they host Mt. Aloysius at the Greensburg Racquet Club.
