Golf Places Second at Grove City MBA Invitational

GROVE CITY, PA – The Bobcat Golf Team made its Spring return and picked up right where it left off in the fall, placing second out of 14 teams in the Grove City MBA Invitational. Nicholas Thomas led the way for the Bobcats, shooting a 74 for the round.
 
The Bobcats had a total of six birdies on the day, with Thomas and Anthony Treonze each shooting two. Thomas went into hole 16 at even par, but lost strokes on 16 and 17. A nine-hole score of 37 was the lowest of the day, achieved by Thomas on both the front and back nine. Meanwhile, Ethan Rice shot a 37 on the first nine and a 38 on the back for an 18-hole score of 75. Zachary Abdallah and Treonze both shot in the 80s as well. Abdallah achieved a par on every hole on the front nine, but doubled the second hole, giving him a two-over score on the turn.  Thomas finished the round in fourth, while Rice rounded out the top five, tied with two other golfers at three over 75.
 
Jayden Diehl, Ryan McWilliams, and Vinny Treonze each golfed independently for Pitt-Greensburg, with McWilliams shooting a low of 79.
