In a back-and-forth contest filled with offensive fireworks, the Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team came up short in a 5-3 loss to Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday afternoon at Ridilla Field.
The Bobcats (1-2-0) matched Harrisburg goal-for-goal in the first half, entering the break tied 2-2. Sarah Folmer opened the scoring for Pitt-Greensburg in the 12th minute, finishing off a well-placed assist from Riley Gesinski. After Harrisburg regained the lead, Gabriella Finch responded with a solo effort in the 30th minute to level the match once again.
In the second half, Harrisburg pulled ahead with a goal from Diana Pon—her second of the match—but Megan Hickey answered for the Bobcats in the 60th minute to tie the game at 3-3. Despite the resilient effort, Harrisburg netted two late goals, including the game-winner from Julia Hughes in the 72nd minute and an insurance tally by Serenity Hill in the 85th.
Anna Fauber made four saves in net for the Bobcats, facing 11 total shots from the Lions.
Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed offensive promise and will look to build on their attacking momentum as they host Marymount tomorrow with kickoff set for 4pm
