The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team showed stretches of resilience on Wednesday night, but an early surge from visiting Mount Aloysius created a deficit too large to overcome, as the Bobcats fell 70–42 inside Chambers Hall.

Mount Aloysius set the tone immediately, scoring the first nine points of the game before Pitt‑Greensburg could settle in. The Bobcats had several clean looks early but couldn't capitalize, and the Mounties continued to build momentum with efficient shooting and active defense. Pitt‑Greensburg broke through late in the quarter with a free throw from Laura Vittone and a strong finish in the paint from Ca'Mari Walden, but Mount Aloysius carried a 23–5 lead into the first break.

Pitt‑Greensburg responded with its best stretch of the night to open the second quarter. Addison Musto buried a three from the right wing to spark the offense, and Jocelyn Bielak followed with a layup to cut the deficit to 23–10. Abby Henise then knocked down a pair of free throws, and the Bobcats continued to build momentum on both ends. One of the highlights of the night came midway through the quarter when Henise finished a layup off a feed from Bielak, who then jumped a passing lane and scored on the fastbreak to bring Pitt‑Greensburg within 10.

Mount Aloysius countered with a poised response, using timely outside shooting—including multiple late threes in the half—to rebuild its lead and go into the break ahead 40–23.

The third quarter featured improved defensive stretches from the Bobcats, who generated stops but struggled to convert consistently on the other end. Bielak scored inside early in the period, Henise added a jumper, and Masie Reed knocked down a three from the top of the arc to provide an offensive boost. Still, the Mounties continued to find answers, maintaining a lead that hovered around 20 points.

Mount Aloysius put the game out of reach early in the fourth with a pair of free throws and a jumper following a turnover. The Bobcats continued to compete on the glass and created several second‑chance opportunities, but Mount Aloysius added two more threes in the quarter to keep the margin wide. Bielak scored a late basket in the paint as the Bobcats continued to fight through the final minute.

Bielak led Pitt‑Greensburg with a strong all‑around performance, posting 13 points and 12 rebounds while playing all 40 minutes. Walden added eight points, while Henise and Musto contributed six each.

The Bobcats will return to play Saturday as they host rival Penn State Behrend for a 2PM tip.
