Pitt‑Greensburg fell 59–51 to Carlow on Saturday afternoon at Chambers Hall after a determined second‑half push wasn't enough to overcome an early deficit.

The Bobcats opened the game with strong defensive energy but struggled to convert on the offensive end. After nearly two minutes of scoreless play, Carlow struck first before Jocelyn Bielak answered with a jumper at the 8:08 mark for UPG's first points. Abby Henise followed later with a layup to tie the game at 8–8 with just over four minutes left in the quarter. Liberty Picarelli then provided a spark off the bench, knocking down a three‑pointer to give the Bobcats an 11–8 lead—their only lead of the day—but Carlow responded with a 5‑0 run to end the frame ahead 13–8.

In the second quarter, baskets by Ca'Mari Walden kept Pitt‑Greensburg within striking distance early, including back‑to‑back finishes that cut the deficit to 16–12. Carlow countered with a 9–2 stretch to open their first double‑digit lead. Henise scored inside and Addison Musto added a free throw to help steady the Bobcats, but Carlow took a 29–21 advantage into halftime.

Pitt‑Greensburg began to climb back in the third. Bielak converted twice in the paint, and after Walden secured an offensive board and kicked out, Bielak buried a three to pull the Bobcats within 38–28. Musto followed with a three of her own moments later, cutting the lead to 40–31. UPG held Carlow to just four field goals for the rest of the period, but still trailed 45–35 entering the fourth.

Bielak opened the final quarter with another jumper, but Carlow answered with a Picarelli three to restore an 11‑point margin. Henise finished a strong move at the rim to bring the deficit back to single digits, and the Bobcats forced several turnovers to create late momentum. With under a minute remaining, Bielak attacked the lane for another layup, and she later drilled a deep three with ten seconds left to pull UPG within 57–49. After Carlow added two free throws, Bielak closed the scoring with a final drive in the closing seconds.

Bielak turned in a dominant performance with 28 points, 15 of which came after halftime. Musto added 11 points and eight rebounds, while Henise anchored the interior with a 15‑rebound effort. Picarelli added nine points off the bench, all from beyond the arc.

Pitt‑Greensburg returns to action Wednesday as they host Penn State Altoona for a 7PM tipoff.
