Despite a strong night from multiple contributors and several late pushes, the Pitt‑Greensburg women's basketball team came up just short on Monday night, falling 55–53 on the road at Carlow. The Bobcats led after both the first and third quarters, but a cold stretch in the fourth and timely baskets by the Celtics proved to be the difference.

Pitt‑Greensburg opened the game with one of its most efficient first quarters of the season, shooting 47 percent from the floor. Jocelyn Bielak and Ca'Mari Walden powered the Bobcats early; Bielak scored eight points in the opening frame, including a jumper with 5:57 remaining that pulled UPG within three. Moments later, Addison Musto drilled a three to cut the margin to 13–16, and Phoebe Snyder's layup with 45 seconds remaining kept the Bobcats within striking distance. Then, with just nine seconds left, Walden buried a transition three off a Bielak assist, giving Pitt‑Greensburg a 20–19 lead after one.

The second quarter saw both teams trading blows before Carlow made a significant push. Bielak tied the game at 21–21 at the 9:09 mark, but Carlow responded with a series of baskets from Lexi Ewig and Josie Horne. After a Musto three tied the game at 23, the Celtics used an 8–0 run to build their largest lead of the night at 35–26 with 3:18 left in the half. The Bobcats fought back as Henise scored inside, Walden added another jumper, and Musto hit her second three of the half to pull UPG within three at 33–36. Carlow converted late free throws to take a 38–33 advantage into the break.

Pitt‑Greensburg responded immediately in the third quarter. Bielak opened the frame with a free throw and Walden scored on a layup to trim the deficit to four. Carlow briefly pushed the lead to seven at 43–36, but the Bobcats surged with a 10–2 run. Musto hit her third three of the evening to give UPG a 46–45 lead with 1:56 remaining, capping a stretch where Bielak, Johnson, and Walden all contributed key baskets. The Bobcats' defense held Carlow to just 17 percent shooting in the quarter, allowing Pitt‑Greensburg to carry a 46–46 tie into the final period.

The fourth quarter proved to be a defensive battle for both sides. The Bobcats struggled from the floor, shooting just 15 percent in the final period, but still remained within one possession for nearly the entire frame. After Carlow built a 50–46 lead early, Walden delivered yet another timely three at the 55‑second mark to make it a 54–50 game. She finished the night with 15 points on 6‑of‑12 shooting. Bielak added a late jumper with four seconds remaining to pull the Bobcats within two at 55–53, but Carlow held on in the final seconds to secure the win.

Bielak recorded a double‑double with 20 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in a standout all‑around performance. Musto added nine points on 3‑of‑8 shooting from beyond the arc, while Walden delivered 15 points and eight rebounds off the bench. Pitt‑Greensburg won the rebounding battle 50–49 and held Carlow to just 27 percent shooting, but the Celtics capitalized on 18 Bobcat turnovers and converted 14 second‑chance points.

The Bobcats will return to action on Saturday as they travel north to take on Hilbert for a 1PM tip.
