Game 1: Pitt-Greensburg 4, Pitt-Bradford 5
Pitt-Greensburg opened the day with early momentum and a late rally, but Pitt-Bradford held on to edge the Bobcats by one run.
The Bobcats struck first in the opening inning as Shelby Cloak doubled to lead off the game and later scored on a Jessica Dunn RBI double, giving Pitt-Greensburg a 1-0 advantage.
Bradford responded immediately in the bottom half when Sara Stroup launched a two-run home run to put the Panthers ahead 2-1. The hosts added another run in the third inning on a solo homer from Miranda Groll to extend the lead to 3-1.
After several scoreless innings, Pitt-Bradford created separation in the sixth. A leadoff double set the stage for Lilly Hamels, who delivered a two-run home run to make it 5-1.
The Bobcats refused to go quietly in the seventh. A leadoff walk sparked the rally before Dunn came through again with an RBI single. Sacrifice flies from Hunter Taylor and Kenzie Lang brought Pitt-Greensburg within one run, cutting the deficit to 5-4. With the tying run in scoring position, however, Bradford recorded the final out to secure the win.
Dunn paced the offense, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Cloak scored twice. Mckenzie Lamb added two hits in the effort.
Autumn Powell went the distance in the circle, striking out five—and in the process recorded her 200th career strikeout, marking a significant milestone in her Bobcat career.
Game 2: Pitt-Greensburg 2, Pitt-Bradford 8
In game two, Pitt-Bradford capitalized on early opportunities and a big fourth inning to pull away for an 8-2 victory.
The Panthers struck first in the opening inning with a two-run home run from Krislyn Clement. They added two more runs in the second, highlighted by a triple from Miranda Groll and an RBI single from Sasha Ginsberg, building a 4-0 lead.
Pitt-Greensburg answered in the third inning when Mckenzie Lamb singled and later scored on an RBI single by Dunn to make it 4-1. The Bobcats added another run in the fourth as Falynn Reinard doubled and eventually scored on a throwing error, trimming the deficit to 4-2.
However, Bradford broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth. A series of base hits, including a two-run double from Sara Stroup and another two-run double from Lilly Hamels, extended the lead to 8-2.
The Bobcats continued to put runners on base, collecting eight hits in the game, but were unable to push across additional runs against the Bradford bullpen.
Reinard led Pitt-Greensburg with two hits and a run scored, while Ryleigh Kasten also recorded a pair of hits. Dunn drove in the lone RBI for the Bobcats.
Julia Jastrzebski provided a bright spot in relief, tossing three scoreless innings to close out the game.
