Pitt-Greensburg battled through a long day at the AMCC Tournament on Thursday, falling in heartbreaking fashion to Penn State Behrend before dropping an elimination game to Pitt-Bradford to conclude the 2026 season at Heindl Field.
The Bobcats opened the afternoon against Penn State Behrend in the winners bracket semifinal and carried a late lead before the Lions rallied for a 3-2 walk-off victory in the seventh inning.
After both teams were retired in order in the opening inning, Pitt-Greensburg struck first in the second. Falynn Reinard singled to begin the frame before Sadie Kelly reached on a fielder's choice. Autumn Powell then delivered a two-out RBI double to right field to give the Bobcats a 1-0 advantage.
Powell worked around traffic throughout the game, including escaping a bases-loaded jam in the third inning and stranding two more runners in the fourth to preserve the lead.
The Bobcats added another run in the fifth when Shelby Cloak singled and Jessica Dunn followed with a base hit. Hunter Taylor later drove in Cloak with an RBI single to center field, extending the lead to 2-0.
Penn State Behrend cut into the deficit in the sixth on a solo home run from Hannah Smith before rallying in the seventh. After a leadoff walk and a double put runners in scoring position, the Lions tied the game on an RBI fielder's choice before Meghan Swain delivered a walk-off RBI single to center field for the 3-2 final.
Cloak finished 3-for-4 in the opener, while Taylor and Powell each drove in a run. Powell also tossed 6.1 innings with four strikeouts in the circle.
Facing elimination later Thursday evening, Pitt-Greensburg squared off with Pitt-Bradford in a rematch and again opened the game with early offense. Cloak and Dunn recorded back-to-back singles in the first inning before Taylor brought home Cloak with an RBI single for an early 1-0 lead.
Pitt-Bradford responded quickly, tying the game on an error before Kalie Dixon connected on a two-run home run to give the Panthers a 3-1 advantage in the opening inning.
The Bobcats answered in the second when Jadyn Davis scored on an RBI single by Cloak to trim the deficit to 3-2. However, Pitt-Bradford used a three-run third inning, highlighted by a two-run single from Keelie Schneider, to extend the lead to 6-2.
Pitt-Greensburg continued to battle offensively and plated another run in the fifth inning. Taylor singled to begin the inning and eventually scored on an RBI single from Mia Dalessandro to make it 6-3.
The Panthers answered with five runs in the bottom of the fifth, using consecutive doubles and multiple RBI singles to secure the 11-3 victory and end the Bobcats' season.
Cloak and Taylor each collected three hits in the elimination game, while Dalessandro added an RBI. Pitt-Greensburg totaled 18 hits across the two contests on Thursday.
The AMCC Tournament appearance marked the conclusion of the 2026 season for the Bobcats.
