Floyd Shroyer is entering his third season as an assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. Shroyer believes the game of softball should be played aggressively both offensively and defensively and has coached countless players that have earned post seasons awards, with several of them moving on to the college level.
Shroyer coaches the Steel City Cyclones 18U Travel team (Formerly Connellsville Cyclones), and since arriving at the 18U age group, his program has become one of the most successful teams in Western, PA.
Last season he was the assistant coach at Franklin Regional high school where the program was ranked tops in the WPIAL for the majority of the season, before being upset in the WPIAL play-offs. He has coached play-off teams at Franklin, Connellsville, and Mt. Pleasant High School.
Shroyer is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Associations and is ACE Certified by ASA Softball. He has coached travel and high school softball over western, PA for the past 12 seasons and brings deep local recruiting ties to Pitt-Greensburg.
In April of 2010 he became a very proud father of his baby girl Peyton Abigail.
