A member of the 2014-15 squad that finished as AMCC-Runners Up, Megan Hans enters her first year as an assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. After playing her freshman season at NAIA Carlow University, Hans transferred to UPG and made an immediate impact in the Bobcats’ frontcourt. During the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons she started 21 games at the “4”, shooting 41% from the field, and averaging 6.2 ppg and 4.2 rpg. An injury suffered during her senior campaign limited her statistical production, but not her impact on UPG’s squad. Hans showcased tremendous leadership, remaining a dedicated, positive force at both practices and games, as she helped lead UPG to an appearance in the AMCC Title game for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
Hans played in 65 career games with the Bobcats and accumulated 335 points and 226 rebounds. She shares the single-game school record for FT percentage with two other players, shooting a perfect 8-8 from the FT line versus D’Youville College on 01/05/2013. A three-time AMCC Academic All-Conference selection, she has made the Dean’s List in every semester of enrollment at UPG. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Hans will graduate from Pitt-Greensburg in December 2015 with a degree in Communication with a minor in Psychology.
