Chuck Wigle enters his third season as head coach of the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg's women's soccer program.
Wigle took over a program that went winless in 2011 and improved the team's win toal to eight, including five conference wins and a third place finish in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference in 2012. The 2013 Lady Bobcats would sustain these lofty standards, once again winning five conference games, securing fourth place in the AMCC and hosting their second consecutive AMCC playoff game.
Wigle served as an assistant coach for the men’s team at Pitt-Greensburg for the 2010,2011, and 2013 seasons.
Wigle’s coaching career began in 1999 when he took over the U-14 Foothills Soccer Club Team. He took over a team that had won just six games the previous year and in his first year at the helm increased the team’s winning total to 12 in just one season. In 2003 he led his Foothills squad to the PA West State Championship game.
In 2001 Wigle was named the Assistant Boys Varsity Soccer Coach and Head Junior Varsity Coach at his alma mater Penn Trafford High School and helped lead the varsity program to three section titles during his tenure. He also spent two seasons as the assistant coach of the Penn’s Forest Soccer Club’s U-16 program, where he played an integral role in the programs second ever PA West Championship.
Wigle a 1999 graduate of local St. Vincent College was a team captain of the Bearcat men’s soccer squad in both the 1997 and 1998 seasons.
