Box Score
Center Valley, PA:    Pitt-Greensburg had a tough shooting night on the road, falling to DeSales University in non-conference action, 74-50.

UPG (3-7), who never led in the contest, dug themselves into a hole early on, shooting just 7-31 (22%) in the first half while DeSales went 16-30 (53%) in building a 28 point halftime lead.

In addition to a cold shooting first half, the Bobcats also had trouble defending the DeSales post game.   DeSales forward Brett Moyer had a game high 16 points on 7-11 shooting, while guard Mike Coleman added 14 points.

The Bobcat offensive was led by junior Brock Witkowski (Marble, PA, Keystone) with 13 points and 6 assists.  Sophomore Brian Heinle (Brackenridge, PA, St. Joesephs) got back on track offensively adding 12 points on 5-9 shooting.

Pitt-Greensburg played significantly better in the second half, shooting over 45% and forcing 15 turnovers while outscoring DeSales 30-26.

The Bobcats finished the night 6-30 (20%) from 3 point range, a number that head coach Sean Strickland knows will improve.

"Our 3-point shooting has surprised me the most (10-54 last 2 games). We have guys that can really shoot the ball, but you wouldn't know it by the way we are missing wide open 3's. I thought our shooting would be a strength this year, and I still do. I'm really looking forward to when we break out of this shooting funk. And we will turn it around because we have too many good shooters not to."

UPG won’t have to wait long to try to break out of it, as they return to the floor Tuesday night when they travel to Misericordia University in a non-conference matchup. Game time is set for 5pm.
