Penn State Altoona edges Bobcats, 2-0

GREENSBURG, PA: Penn State Altoona used two second half goals to defeat Pitt-Greensburg Wednesday afternoon, 2-0 in an important AMCC contest.
The two teams locked into a physical battle on Wednesday, with Altoona earning an 8-1 edge in shots in the first half. However UPG's defense kept them in the game and the teams remained scoreless going into halftime.
In the 60
th minute, Altoona's Dan Kennedy took a free kick and placed it perfectly to the top right corner overtop of UPG keeper Brandon Galley.
After a controversial no call in the box on Altoona, the Lions marched down the field and took advantage of an accidental handball on UPG. Altoona's Garrett Storm was good on the penalty kick, extending the Lions' lead to 2-0, with about 13 minutes remaining.
UPG's
Brandon Galley made 3 saves in goal for the Bobcats, and
Craig Macdonald registered the lone shot on goal.
The loss drops the Bobcats to 1-3 in the AMCC while the Lions improve to 2-2 in conference play.
UPG will resume conference play this Saturday when they host Penn State Behrend at 1pm.
