Bisons top Bobcats in overtime, 3-2

BETHANY, Wv: The Pitt-Greensburg men's soccer team suffered a tough overtime loss Saturday afternoon, falling to Bethany College 3-2. It was the second overtime loss for the Bobcats on the young season.
Junior Captain
Jeremy Niemiec (Scottdale, PA, Southmoreland) got the Bobcats on the board first when he put a shot on goal that was deflected off a Bethany defender and into the back of the net, giving UPG a 1-0 lead just before halftime.
In the second half, Bethany got two quick strikes in the 57
th and 59
th minute to pull ahead with a 2-1 lead. UPG battled back and in the 73
rd minute junior
Mike Dawdy (Erie, PA, Ft. Leboeuf) evened the score when he put a shot from the top left side of the box past the keeper, making it a 2-2 game.
The score would remain tied through the end of regulation and in the overtime frame it was Bethany's James Arkangelo who fired a shot past UPG keeper Brandon Galley, giving the Bisons the victory. It was the second goal of the game for Arkangelo.
On the day, Bethany registered 28 shots while UPG had 12. Bobcat keeper
Brandon Galley (Mt. Pleasant, PA, Southmoreland) made six saves in goal on the afternoon.
Certainly a disappointing loss for Pitt-Greensburg, who fall to 0-6 on the year, including two overtime losses. UPG will return home this week when they host cross town rival St. Vincent College on Wednesday (Sep 18) afternoon at 4pm.
