Big second half powers Bobcats past D'Youville
Box Score BUFFALO, NY: After trailing at halftime, the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team rallied in the second half to blow past D'Youville College, 87-77.
The Bobcats were eager to get back on the court after a rough 0-4 start in early non-conference play. UPG's first win of the season was a big one, as it came in their conference opener, giving them a 1-0 record in AMCC play. DYC falls to 1-6 on the season and is now 0-2 in the AMCC.
Despite a slow start, the Bobcats managed to keep it a close game, trailing just 42-39 at halftime. UPG shot a season worst 31% in the first half, including just 3 of 21 from three point range.

Jerell Figueroa sank a three pointer to break a 50-50 tie at the 15:47 mark of the second half to give the Bobcats a three point lead. That basket sparked a 20-5 run that saw Pitt-Greensburg put the game out of reach.
The Bobcats were led by junior
Rocco Contristano, who had a team high 19 points. Senior
Brian Heinle finished the day with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, while teammate
Marcus Thomas tallied a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Junior
Nick Anderson gave the Bobcats some production off the bench, coming in to add 11 points on the afternoon.
It was a tale of two halves for the Bobcats, as they shot 50% in the 2
nd half, and were lights out from beyond the arc, shooting 8 of 13 (60%).
Pitt-Greensburg will return to its home floor on Wednesday night (Dec 10
th) when they host AMCC foe Penn State Altoona. Tip-off is set for 8pm.
