BUFFALO, NY:  After trailing at halftime, the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team rallied in the second half to blow past D'Youville College, 87-77.

The Bobcats were eager to get back on the court after a rough 0-4 start in early non-conference play.  UPG's first win of the season was a big one, as it came in their conference opener, giving them a 1-0 record in AMCC play.  DYC falls to 1-6 on the season and is now 0-2 in the AMCC.

Despite a slow start, the Bobcats managed to keep it a close game, trailing just 42-39 at halftime.  UPG shot a season worst 31% in the first half, including just 3 of 21 from three point range.

UPG's Jerell Figueroa sank a three pointer to break a 50-50 tie at the 15:47 mark of the second half to give the Bobcats a three point lead.  That basket sparked a 20-5 run that saw Pitt-Greensburg put the game out of reach.

The Bobcats were led by junior Rocco Contristano, who had a team high 19 points.  Senior Brian Heinle finished the day with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, while teammate Marcus Thomas tallied a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Junior Nick Anderson gave the Bobcats some production off the bench, coming in to add 11 points on the afternoon.

It was a tale of two halves for the Bobcats, as they shot 50% in the 2nd half, and were lights out from beyond the arc, shooting 8 of 13 (60%).

Pitt-Greensburg will return to its home floor on Wednesday night (Dec 10th) when they host AMCC foe Penn State Altoona.  Tip-off is set for 8pm.
