AUBURNDALE, FL:  Jeramy Kopacko (Brownsville, PA) and Adam Dodson (Bethel Park, PA) struck out 13 batters as Pitt-Greensburg defeated Cairn University, 7-2 on Wednesday night.  The Bobcats pick up their second win in Florida and improve to 3-5 on the season as the Highlanders drop to 2-5.

Cairn University would take an early lead after a run in the top of the first.  Two innings later a Chad Jacob (Bridgeville, PA) RBI triple scored Anthony Bozzuto (Greensburg, PA), knotting the game at 1-1.

UPG captured their first lead of the game in the bottom of the fourth after Ryan Thornton (Elizabeth, PA) grounded out to second, scoring Logan Douglas (Greensburg, PA) in the process.  Runs by Bozutto and Logan Douglas (Greensburg, PA) in the fifth inning extended the Bobcat lead to 4-1 after five.

The Highlanders picked up a run in sixth to close the gap but the Bobcats answered right back.  A Cairn error would bring Matt Moyer (Greensburg, PA) home followed by a Greg Lynn (Ellwood City, PA) sacrifice fly that scored John Buerkle (Jacksonville, FL), stretching the lead to 6-2.  Another Cairn error in the seventh would plate Pitt-Greensburg's final run, bringing Jacob across home plate.

Kopacko improved to 1-0 on the season going 5.1 innings in the start.  Kopacko allowed 2 runs, 1 earned and struck out 7 batters on his way to the victory.  Dodson earned the save after 3.2 innings in relief, striking out 6 more Highlanders and allowing just 1 hit.
