PITTSBURGH, Pa: Pitt-Greensburg and La Roche College played to a 1-1 tie Tuesday afternoon in an AMCC women's soccer matchup.
UPG is now 4-5-1 on the season and 0-1-1 in the conference while LRC sits at 4-1-3 overall and 1-0-1 in the AMCC.
The Bobcats took an early 1-0 lead on a goal from senior
Tiffanni Downey in the 8
th minute. The goal was Downey's third of the season.
Pitt-Greensburg carried a one-goal lead into the second half until La Roche got the equalizer from Kayla Bartok off a corner kick from Vanessa Ceravolo.
In the first overtime period, Pitt-Greensburg registered the only shot and then went on to outshoot the Redhawks 4-1 in the second OT period, but couldn't come up with the golden goal.
UPG outshot LRC 17-13 on the afternoon, including 10 shots on goal. Goalkeeper
Shannon Edwards made 4 saves in goal for the Bobcats.
Pitt-Greensburg will be back in action this Saturday when they travel to Buffalo, NY for an AMCC matchup with D'Youville College at 2pm.
