Box Score BRADFORD, PA:  Despite a strong start, the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team found themselves on the wrong end of an 82-75 back and forth contest at Pitt-Bradford, Saturday afternoon.

The game featured 11 lead changes on the day, with Pitt-Greensburg grabbing an early 16-6 lead to start the contest.

Each team shot over 40% in the first half, and the two teams went into the halftime break, deadlocked at 39-39.

The two teams traded leads throughout the second half, and entered the final four minutes of play with the Bobcats holding a slim 69-68 advantage.  Unfortunately, the Panthers answered right back with an Evan Greening layup, reclaiming the lead for good at 70-69.

The Bobcats remained within striking distance until the end, but the Panthers converted their final six free throw attempts to ice the victory.

UPG shot 44% from the floor on the afternoon, compared to the Panthers' 41%.  However the Bobcats will undoubtedly look back at their missed opportunities from the free line throw, going just 12 of 22 (54%) on the day.

Pitt-Greensburg drops to 12-7 overall and 9-3 in the AMCC while the Panthers improve to 7-12 overall and 6-6 in league play.

Pacing the Bobcats offense on Saturday was senior Jerell Figueroa who had a team high 14 points, playing in 39 minutes. Classmates Marcus Thomas and Rocco Contristano each finished the day with 12 points and 9 rebounds apiece while seniors Nick Anderson and Mike Connelly each added 10 points apiece.  Rounding out the scoring for the senior class was Jarrett Shannon (9 points) and Tyler DeWitt (6 points) who combined to go 5 of 8 from three point range.  The senior class contributed 73 of the 75 points on the afternoon.

However the Bobcats had no answer for UPB's Evan Greening, who had a monster game posting 30 points and 18 rebounds in the Panthers' victory.

The Bobcats currently are tied with Hilbert College at 9-3 for the 2nd best mark in the AMCC with 6 games remaining. UPG will return home this Wednesday (Feb 3rd) for a 6pm tilt with AMCC foe Franciscan University.

Pitt-Greensburg won the previous matchup 92-73 over the Barons, in Steubenville, back on January 6th.
