YOUNGWOOD, Pa- The Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team (8-7-2, 6-1-1 AMCC) used a five goal first half to defeat Hilbert (9-6-1, 4-4-1 AMCC) 6-0 in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory on Saturday afternoon at Westmoreland County Community College.
Playing in less than ideal conditions, the Bobcats cruised to their highest scoring output of the season, striking for five first-half goals, all which came in the first 33 minutes.
Bri Burgunder opened with the game's first goal at the six minute mark, as she took a pass from
Jessica Moore and buried it into the far side of the net. Burgunder struck again just over six minutes later, as she notched her second goal of the match to double the Pitt-Greensburg lead to 2-0.
Kayleen Schwegler buried home a pass from Moore to increase the Bobcat lead to 3-0 and six minutes later found the back of the net for her second goal of the match. Following Schwegler's second goal of the game,
Rachel Steinmark got in on the scoring as she volleyed a shot into the net off a pass from
Maggie Kelly in the 33
rd minute.
Camille Hickman buried home a Steinmark cross to send Pitt-Greensburg to a 6-0 win and its fifth-straight victory of the season.
The Bobcats had one of their best offensive outputs of the season outshooting Hilbert 25-9 on the afternoon, including an 11-6 margin in shots on goal.
Pitt-Greensburg travels to Penn State Altoona Tuesday, for its final regular-season match of the year. Kickoff on Tuesday is set for 5:00 p.m.
