PITTSBURGH, Pa: The road remained unkind to the Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team on Wednesday night as the Bobcats fell at La Roche by an 81-54 score.

A 12-0 Redhawk run would open Wednesday's contest, placing Pitt-Greensburg at an early disadvantage. The Bobcat scoring drought was broken by a
Kelsey Oddis (Lower Burrell, PA, Burrell) layup at the 5:57 mark of the first and prompted UPG to keep pace for the remainder of the quarter. An
Emily Nelson (New Stanton, PA, Hempfield) three pointer and three more Oddis points would close out the first and keep the Bobcats within 11 points at 19-8.
An even second quarter saw Pitt-Greensburg cut the deficit to six points on an
Amanda Estok (Monroeville, PA, Gateway) three with 4:22 left in the half. Estok's trifecta capped a 9-4 run that brought the Bobcats back within striking distance at 23-17. Unfortunately for the visitors, the Redhawks answered with an 11-6 run that stretched the La Roche lead back to 11 for a 34-23 score.
A big Redhawk rally in the third quarter would place Pitt-Greensburg at a 58-30 disadvantage heading into the fourth. Despite outscoring La Roche 24-23 in the final quarter, the Bobcats would get no closer than 25 points on their way to the 81-54 defeat.
On the night, Pitt-Greensburg shot 41.2% from the floor including 33.3% from three compared to the Redhawks' 60.8% and 66.7% from behind the three point arc.
