Bobcats bested by Baldwin Wallace

GREENSBURG, Pa:  The Pitt-Greensburg baseball team fell 19-5 in a nonconference midweek meeting with Baldwin Wallace University.

The defeat drops the Bobcats to 20-15 on the year while the Yellow Jackets improve to 18-17 overall.

The offense started early in Wednesday's affair, with Baldwin Wallace jumping out to a 5-0 lead through two and a half innings played.

Pitt-Greensburg would also get the bats going in the early innings, plating four bottom of the third inning runs to move within one of the Yellow Jackets at 5-4.  A Matt Moyer (Greensburg, PA, Hempfield) single got things started, scoring Zack Zimmerman (Derry, PA, Derry) for the first UPG run.  Moyer would then make his way in for their second run, thanks to a Ryan Dodson (Bethel Park, PA, Bethel Park) RBI-double two batters later.  Mike Parlak (Connellsville, PA, Connellsville) would cap the third's scoring sending a two-run double down the leftfield line to score two more Bobcats.

Unfortunately for the home team, 12 unanswered runs over the next three and a half innings would slide BW atop a 17-4 advantage.  The Bobcats would snatch a run in the bottom of the seventh, compliments of a Matt Germanoski (Ellwood City, PA, Ellwood City) RBI-double that scored Anthony Bozzuto (Greensburg, PA, Hempfield), but two more BW runs in the eighth would quell the notion of a UPG comeback.

Pitt-Greensburg registered 10 hits on the afternoon led by Ryan Dodson's 3-4 performance that included a pair of doubles, one run scored, and a RBI.  Moyer also picked up multiple hits, finishing 2-5 while also adding a run and RBI.

Dakota McWilliams (Connellsville, PA, Connellsville) picks up the loss, his first of the season after supplying the first two innings pitched.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action this Friday, April 29th for their final regular season conference clash.  The Bobcats will travel back to Buffalo, NY to face the Medaille College for a 1:00pm with the Mavericks.
