th minute lifted Alvernia (1-1) past the Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer team (1-2) in a non-conference match on Saturday evening at the Alvernia University Turf Field.
Despite being outshot 10-1 and 8-0 in shots on goal, Shannon Edwards proved to be a huge reason why the match remained scoreless until late in regulation. Edwards was huge in net making seven saves in the game, but it was the combination of Allison Hyde and Smith that managed to slide one past Edwards for the game-winning goal.
Freshman Courtney Hrycko had UPG's lone shot attempt, while Maria Petrongolo totaled a game-hjigh two shot attempts to pace the Crusader attack.
The Bobcats complete the two-game road trip tomorrow afternoon when they face Albright College at 2:00 p.m.
