@UPG_WBB Drops Season-Opener To Brooklyn College On Day One Of Buffalo State Tip-Off

BUFFALO, N.Y.- Despite a double-double from senior Kelsey Oddis, Brooklyn College topped the Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team 81-36 in the season-opener Friday afternoon on day one of the Buffalo State Tip-Off Tournament.

Oddis totaled game-highs of 17 points and 13 rebounds for her 12th career double-double, while freshmen Nadege Durand and Sabre Turner chipped in with seven and six points respectively. Turner also aided the Bobcats, hauling down seven rebounds and dishing out a team-best three assists in her first collegiate game.

Brooklyn College had three players notch double-figure scoring outputs on the afternoon, led the Channel Jemmott's 17 points and seven boards.

The Bobcats made the most of their opportunities from the charity stripe, knocking down 8-of-10, including a perfect 4-for-4 in the second 20 minutes of action.

Both teams had a tough time in the early going, as neither side scored a point until Taylor George drilled a three-pointer with 7:38 left in the opening stanza. The Bobcats answered back and would take a 4-3 lead with 5:41 to go as Turner connected on two shots from the charity stripe followed by a jumper from Durand.

Pitt-Greensburg extended its advantage to 6-4 on a bucket from Oddis, but after another jumper from George to tie the game at six, Brooklyn would end the opening quarter on a 9-1 run and held a 15-7 lead heading into the second quarter.

The Bulldogs continued the momentum into the second quarter with an 8-0 burst over the opening 2:30. Brooklyn would continue to hold its lead for the remainder of the afternoon and go on for the 81-36 victory.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Saturday afternoon (Nov. 18) against Villa Maria College. Saturday's tip-off is set for 11 am.
