Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

@UPG_WBB Falls In Non-Conference Action At Geneva Saturday Afternoon

BEAVER FALLS- In the first game after the Thanksgiving Hoiday, the Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team fell 74-53 at Geneva in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon in Metheny Fieldhouse.

With the win, Geneva improves to 2-2 overall, while Pitt-Greensburg falls to 0-3.

Kelsey Oddis led the way for the Bobcats, pouring in a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds- both of which were game-highs. Nadege Durand totaled six points and also aided the Bobcats with nine boards, three of which she snagged on the offensive glass.

Cat Gollihugh paced Pitt-Greensburg with nine points, connecting on three-of-four from the floor.

The Golden Tornadoes had two players notch double-figures on the afternoon, led by Callie Ford's 19 points on 5-of-12 from the field.

Geneva was efficient shooting the ball Saturday, making 27-of its -52 field goal attempts for 51.9%, which included a 9-for-14 performance from behind the three-point arc. Pitt-Greensburg made 22-of-61 from the floor (36.1%), which included making a season-high 7-of-12 from three-point range.

The Golden Tornadoes started the game on fire, knocking down three-straight three point shots. Geneva held the lead for the remainder of the opening period and a three-pointer by Ford with under a minute left pushed its advantage to 16 (22-6), but the Bobcats would close the quarter with back-to-back baskets by McGinnis and Turner to trim the deficit to 11.

The Bobcats continued to chip away at the score in the second stanza and would head into the locker room trailing by just seven, as Oddis nailed a jumper with six seconds left to make the score 38-31 at halftime.

Pitt-Greensburg continued to battle back in the second half and would get within seven late in the third quarter, but Geneva put the game out of reach, outscoring the Bobcats 36-22 in the final 20 minutes of action and would go on for the 74-53 win.

The Bobcats return home Wednesday evening when they open up Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play, hosting Penn State Altoona. Wednesday's game will be the home-opener for Pitt-Greensburg and is scheduled to tip-off at 8:15 pm.
