@UPG_WBB Falls In Non-Conference Action To Waynesburg

GREENSBURG- The Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team (1-10) had three players notch double-figure scoring outputs, but Waynesburg (6-4) shot 54.4% from the floor as the Yellow Jackets picked up a 91-55 victory Thursday evening in Chambers Hall.

Kelsey Oddis led all scorers with 17 points and also grabbed nine boards, while Sabre Turner and Nadege Durand also were in double-figures with 13 and 12 points respectively. Turner put together an impressive second half as the freshman forward totaled just two points in the opening half, but exploded for 11 points and five rebounds in the second half of action.

Waynesburg placed five players in double-digits, led by Kerri Bungard's 16 points, while Andrea Orlosky chipped in with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Andi McGinnis gave the Bobcats some excellent minutes in the game, as she totaled season-highs in point (6) and minutes played (18). 

The Yellow Jackets put on an impressive shooting display in both halves, as they shot 58% in the opening 20 minutes and closed the game connecting on 51% from the floor. For the game, Waynesburg made 37-of-its-68 attempts and drilled 9-of-22 from three-point distance.

Pitt-Greensburg trailed by four (10-6) with just under three minutes left in the opening quarter, but the Yellow Jackets ended the quarter on a 9-2 run to push their lead to 11 (19-8) at the end of the opening quarter.

Waynesburg would remain in the lead for the rest of the evening and go on for the 91-55 victory.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to the court Sunday, Dec. 31 when it welcomes Chatham to Chambers Hall for a Noon tip-off.
