Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Tripped Up At Mt. Aloysius Wednesday Evening

CRESSON- Nadege Durand and Kelsey Oddis each notched double-figures, but the Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team (1-5, 1-2 AMCC) fell 66-49 at Mt. Aloysius (4-2, 2-0 AMCC) in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup Wednesday evening.

Durand paced the Bobcat offense with a career-high 18 points on 9-of-14 shooting, while Oddis notched her fifth double-double with 14 points and grabbing 15 boards, five of which came on the offensive glass.

The Mounties placed three players in double-digits led by Breana Kendick's game-high 19 points off the bench. Kendrick connected on 5-of-6 from behind the three-point arc.

Pitt-Greensburg connected on 23-of-62 from the floor for 37.1%, while holding the Mounties to 23-of-65 for 35.4%. The difference in the game was three-point shooting as Mt. Aloysius connected on 9-of-26, while the Bobcats hit just 1-of-13.

The Bobcats held a slight 43-42 advantage in the rebounding department, while Mt. Aloysius hauled down 15 offensive rebounds, but Pitt-Greensburg made it difficult to convert the second chance opportunities, as the hosts totaled just 12 second chance points compared to 17 for the visitors.

Pitt-Greensburg also outscored Mt. Aloysius 28-20 in the paint and 14-10 in points-off-turnovers.

The Bobcats jumped out to a quick 6-2 lead over the opening four minutes of the first quarter and would hold the advantage for much of the opening quarter, but Mt. Aloysius chipped away and held a 19-17 margin after 10 minutes.

Mt. Aloysius remained ahead in the second quarter, with its largest lead coming at 29-22 at the 4:10 mark on a three-ball from Jessa Wright, but the Bobcats clawed back and made it a three-point game at half, 34-31.

The Mounties pushed their lead to 11 (46-35) with just under five minutes left in the third stanza, but a layup from Colleen Murphy cut the lead to 49-43 heading into the final 10 minutes.

Pitt-Greensburg cut the deficit to nine on Sabre Turner's layup with 4:38 left in regulation, but Mt. Aloysius put the game out of reach with an 11-0 burst to end the matchup.

The Bobcats return to the court Saturday afternoon, playing host to D'Youville. Saturday's tip is scheduled for 3 pm in Chambers Hall.
